YOUNG and old alike were treated to a lively, fun-filled afternoon at yesterday's Riddlesden Gala.
The event, which has now been running for 31 years, began with the traditional procession from the Marquis of Granby pub to Riddlesden St Mary's Primary School.
The parade was led by the City of Bradford Pipe Band and also featured local Brownies, Cub Scouts, pupils from Riddlesden St Mary's and University Academy Keighley, the Jamba Samba band and Silsden All Stars Majorettes.
From 1.30pm onwards the Riddlesden St Mary's school grounds hosted many attractions, with £3,000 in proceeds going to Haworth Riding for the Disabled.
Riddlesden Gala committee chairman, Geoffrey Baldwin, said: "It was a marvellous day overall, and we were very lucky with the weather.
"We had a good crowd, if slightly down on last year, but all the stalls did extremely well and the procession went absolutely flawlessly."
