POLICE officers arrested a suspect and recovered a stolen scooter in Braithwaite after receiving a call that the vehicle had been spotted in this area.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Our officers were already nearby due to other calls relating to the nuisance use of this scooter last Saturday. (Oct 11) Following a short search the scooter was seen being ridden by a youth who was not wearing any safety equipment whatsoever.
"On seeing this two police constables positioned their motor cycles in such a way that the youth could not make off and he was quickly detained.
"Following checks on the scooter it was found to be stolen and the male riding it was arrested. The scooter was seized for examination by police experts.
"The owner of the stolen scooter was informed that it had been found and recovered. He expressed his gratitude for the prompt and efficient service and was relieved to be getting his scooter back."
