A CRIME-busting camera could be installed in Lund Park within the next three weeks.
The Town Council-funded CCTV camera will be placed in a spot where it can best protect the public.
Keighley town councillor Mick Westerman said security experts were due to visit the park this week to assess suitable locations for cameras.
He had put forward the plan to buy a CCTV camera earlier this month, only days after a spate of violent attacks in and around Lund Park.
His colleagues on the council’s Watch and Transport Committee immediately approved the new £6,500 camera, to be linked to the district-wide CCTV network.
Councillors hoped that other organisations such as Bradford Council would fund extra cameras.
Mark Burns-Williamson, the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, last week lent his support to supported the campaign, saying there could be cameras in several Keighley parks.
