A GROUP of students from a Keighley school has been taught vital first aid skills by a trainer keen to share his expertise.
The 30 sixth form students from Holy Family Catholic School learned about CPR and dealing with people injured in an emergency, including placing them in the recovery position.
Each pupil, aged between 16 and 18, was handed a certificate for taking part in the accredited course.
It was the latest stop for the St John Ambulance team, which is visiting several of the region's primary and secondary schools.
Teachers have devised their own course schedule using the charity's Student First Aid pack.
David Edmondson, from St John Ambulance, led the class at the Spring Lane Gardens school.
Sixth form tutor Lucy Hufton said: "It's important to have that knowledge. Some of them would have had no idea what to do before.
"They will look to deal with different situations if they ever arise."
