HOMES and businesses in Haworth were left without their gas supply this morning.
A spokesman for Northern Gas Networks said about 250 properties were affected, adding that engineers are now working hard to restore gas supplies.
The problem hit buildings in the West Lane, Hobb Lane and Lumb Foot areas of the village, and has been attributed to engineering complications arising from essential work to replace ageing metal gas mains.
Paul Sadler, customer operations area manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “Our Customer Care team has been speaking to residents in the area and a customer drop-in centre has been set up at the Old Sun Pub, in West Lane, for customers who have any concerns or would like further information.
“We would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused and reassure everyone that we are doing all we can to restore the gas supply as quickly as possible.
“People with any questions or concerns should contact an engineer on site or call the Customer Care team on 0800 0407766.”
