A WEEKEND of celebrations was held at Steeton Methodist Church marking the congregation's 25 years in the current building.
More than 80 people enjoyed a pie and pea supper on the Saturday, followed by a humorous talk by local historian Ian Dewhirst – who compiles the popular Memory Lane column in the Keighley News – on Chapel Life in Victorian and Edwardian Times.
On the Sunday morning, the church was packed for an anniversary service led by the Rev Alan Raine, the minister at Steeton 25 years ago.
The eldest member of the Junior Church, Sarah Burrows, sang You Raise Me Up.
After the service, members enjoyed cakes, tea and coffee and a special anniversary cake was cut.
