VOLUNTEER radio presenters are tuning up to hit the airwaves in a 30-hour non-stop charity music marathon.
The ‘radiothon’ is being organised by St Luke’s Sound, which entertains patients and staff at St Luke’s Hospital, Bradford, in a bid to raise money for the station.
Most of the station’s team of 15 presenters will be taking part, teeing up favourite hits back-to-back and broadcasting from 10am on Wednesday until 4pm on Thursday.
"We have more than 9,000 tracks to choose from so there should be a good variety of music," said St Luke’s Sound secretary, David Rathmell.
"When we have organised similar events in the past, people have been incredibly generous with their support, so we hope this will be the case once more.
"We really hope the local community will get behind the volunteers and celebrate the service we provide at St Luke’s."
Any businesses able to help sponsor the self-funded station should contact Mr Rathmell on 01274 601778.
