A SHOP which has traded in Keighley's Airedale Shopping Centre for 15 years has announced it is to close.

Dawn Drake, the owner of Present Days, in Brunswick Arcade, says the gift and cards store is having to shut due to a lack of trade.

Its final day of opening will be Saturday April 2.

Mrs Drake paid tribute to all her customers, and also praised her staff – Natalie Drake, Jean McDonagh, Andreana Smith and Megan Smith.

She said: "Things were better when I first set the shop up, it was busier then.

"We've always tried to offer unique products, but year on year it has got harder and now the amount of trade and footfall we have can't sustain us any longer.

"You do think that each Christmas and Mother's Day might turn things round, but they haven't. I am sad about it, as are my staff.

"I'd like to thank all our lovely customers who've been coming here over the years. We have had a lot of repeat custom.

"When we posted on Facebook that we were closing a lot of people left some really nice comments, and I want to say 'thank you' to them too."
