A KEIGHLEY man has been charged with assault and drug possession after a taxi driver was injured in an attack in Long Lee.
The incident happened at 9.17pm in Long Lee Lane on August 13.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said a Police Community Support Officer had witnessed the offence while on patrol.
He added: "PCSO Alan Cooper was on duty when he came across a taxi driver being attacked in the Long Lee area of Keighley.
"He rushed over and detained the suspect asking for assistance from colleagues. The male was subsequently arrested."
The police say the taxi driver – a 38-year-old man – suffered injuries to his hand and head and was treated at Airedale Hospital.
The suspect, a 21-year-old man, has been bailed until September 13 when he is due to appear in court in Bradford.
