YOUNGSTERS from seven Keighley-district primary schools hit a high note.
The pupils joined forces to perform a variety of songs and musical pieces.
Music leaders from each of the schools – Haworth, Ingrow, Laycock, Oldfield, Oxenhope, Stanbury and Worth Valley – worked with conductor and arranger Sarah Schofield to create the group works.
The children played everything from Bowie to Bach and sang a range of songs.
The event – held in the theatre at Beckfoot School, Bingley – was supported by Bradford Council's music and arts service.
"It was a wonderful celebration of music and singing," said Graham Swinbourne, headteacher at Stanbury Village School.
"Many of the children are still only at the very beginning of their musical journeys.
"The 'Valley Choir and Orchestra' – comprising children learning musical instruments ranging from accordions and cellos to guitars and drums – finished the show with a Chuck Berry rock 'n' roll medley and Leonard Cohen's haunting Hallelujah, to the sound of rapturous applause from the audience."
