A 92-YEAR-OLD artist from Riddlesden will exhibit again in central Keighley from next week.
The paintings created by William Wadsworth Smith are due to go on display in Central Hall, Alice Street, next Wednesday. (April 26).
A spokesman for the exhibition organisers explained: "There are about 30 paintings, all of which are modern artworks. They will be priced at £50 and under, and the exhibition will run for two weeks."
Mr Wadsworth Smith used to have his pictures on display at a gallery in Haworth.
But since these premises closed down several years ago he has had to keep his paintings in his own home.
However, he was able to bring his artistic talent back into the public eye last October, when he held a successful two-week exhibition, also at Central Hall.
He was born in Keighley in 1925 and took up painting when he was 15-years-old. During the Second World War he served as a wireless operator on Lancaster and Halifax bombers.
Following the conflict he was stationed first in Northern Ireland then in India.
He was married in 1952 and continued painting, producing many modern-type works based on his observations of artists such as Picasso and Matisse.
