CULLINGWORTH councillors have acted to clear up a misunderstanding over access to a local beauty spot.
A Haworth resident emailed the Village Council clerk because he could not get into The Dell from Woodfield Road while walking around the village.
The man was under the impression that there was such an access into the Dell, a small wooded valley that runs from Greenside Road in the centre of Cullingworth.
Discussing the issue at a recent meeting, councillors heard that the Definitive Rights of Way Map for Cullingworth did not show a right of way through the grounds of a private house on Woodfield Road.
The lane from The Dell is actually a back entrance to the house and is no longer accessible, although in the past it may have accessible at the discretion of previous owners.
A "no through road" sign has been positioned at the beginning of Woodfield Road to inform drivers and pedestrians.
