ALTERNATIVE/indie band Anteros will headline at Oporto in Leeds next month.

The group is a four-piece band from London, via Barcelona, where singer and lyricist Laura Hayden grew up with her Spanish father and English mother.

Anteros recently supported Two Door Cinema Club on their UK tour and Blaenavon and White Lies in the UK and Europe.

2016 saw the band being tipped by Annie Mac, and their single “The Beat” chosen as Phil Taggart’s Single of the Week.

This success was followed by an opening slot on Glastonbury’s Other Stage and a sold out London headline show.

So far, the band have been compared to the likes of Blondie, No Doubt, The Pretenders and Best Coast, and lauded for their ‘60s pop savvy, ‘70s new wave attitude and 90s swagger.

For 2017 the group has a jam-packed live schedule and a range of new material in the works.

Anteros will be on stage at Oporto from 7.30pm on September 27. Visit seetickets.com/event/anteros/oporto/1111821 for tickets.
