THE SPIRIT of wartime entertainment is being revived in Silsden as the town hall hosts a nostalgic evening of dance and song.
Popular vintage singer Kitty La Mare will perform legendary songs of the Forties during the October 27 gathering in the Kirkgate venue.
The Friends of Silsden Town Hall promise an evocative atmosphere with magical music by the likes of Glenn Miller, the Andrews Sisters and Vera Lynn.
Music will also be provided by the jitterbugging disc jockey Company B, alias local barber and historian Jeff Walbank.
Members of the Airedale Swing Dance Community will demonstrate dance moves on the ballroom floor.
People are welcome to join in the dancing or simply soak up the atmosphere.
Tickets for the Big 1940s Night Out, which lasts from 7.30pm to 11pm, are available at £10 each from Twiggs newsagents in Kirkgate. A bar and light refreshments will also be available.
