KEIGHLEY MP John Grogan is taking a gamble – and he hopes it will be an odds-on winner for charity.
He is backing Bradford City, Leeds United and Burnley all to win their Boxing Day football fixtures.
And he has got an each-way bet on Thistlecrack in the big holiday steeplechase race, the King George VI at Kempton Park.
Mr Grogan has contributed £20 and Ladbrokes, in Bow Street, Keighley, £30.
Any winnings will go to foodbanks in the town.
"Going for a day out at the football or the races is an important part of many people's Christmas," said Mr Grogan.
"I myself shall be cheering on the Bantams at Valley Parade on Boxing Day as they take on Peterborough.
"For the bet I have backed City, Leeds and Burnley, which should just about cover most local supporters!"
