SCHOOL pupils from Keighley have enjoyed a rewarding and activity-filled exchange visit to Bavaria, in southern Germany.
A group of students and staff from Holy Family Catholic School have returned following a visit to Holy Family’s partner school – The Hildegardis Gymnasium in Kempten – which is in a region called the Allgäu.
A Holy Family spokesman said: "The partnership has been in place for 15 years and exchanges normally happen every other year.
"As usual during this visit the students stayed with a German host family.
"The hosts had arranged a full programme of events alongside the usual visits to the gymnasium to sample German education.
"Activities included a tour of Kempten and sledging in Immenstadt while history and environmental education was catered for with visits to the Swabian farming museum and Neuschwanstein Castle respectively.
"Needless to say there was also a shopping trip for souvenirs. This year it took place in Munich after a tour of the city.
"The children of the host families will be making a return visit to us at Holy Family towards the end of April."
