A DROP-in community engagement evening was held in Harden to give local people a chance to quiz a developer on its revised plans for the village.

Skipton Properties representatives attended the parish council organised event in Harden Memorial Hall on Tuesday, (Sept 4) where they fielded questions from members of the public. The firm wants to build 28 houses close to the junction with Harden Road and Keighley Road.

It has outline approval from Bradford Council, with design and layout details yet to be agreed.

Skipton Properties recently argued it would not be able to afford nearly £100,000 worth of financial contributions to local services it agreed to as part of the intended housing scheme.

It asked for the terms of this section 106 agreement to be discharged, but the developer’s detailed application for the new homes was rejected by Bradford Council.

The developer has now put together amended plans, which were on display in the Memorial Hall on Tuesday.
