A LONG-established Keighley women’s group has been honoured for its part in raising cash for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Ladies 2000 has received an Individuals and Supporters Award from the charity after holding garden parties for the past six years.

Pauline O’Hara, who organises the garden parties at her home, went along to the YAA’s recent champagne reception and dinner in Sheffield to collect the award

The garden parties have raised around £10,000.

Ladies 2000 was originally a social group for the ladies of St Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, meeting at the Keighley Catholic Centre, but in the year 2000 widened its scope with a new name.

Meetings are now held on the first Wednesday of every month at the Social Centre for the Blind in Scott Street, with a mix of supper, raffle and bingo. New members are welcome.
