A NEW person has been co-opted onto Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council.
Beverly Underwood was voted onto the parish council at its full meeting on November 19.
She was born in Cross Roads, moved away to Colne for 20 years where her husband run a post office and general store, then returned to live in Cross Roads four years ago.
While in Colne she worked as a GP’s receptionist.
Councillor Underwood is also secretary of Lees cum Cross Roads Gala and was part of the team involved with reviving the event.
Commenting shortly after her co-option she said she was keen to help improve the parish and make sure it gets its fair share of funding.
"It's important that tourists are catered for as well as possible," she added. "And I also want to bring local people together and help generate a sense of community."
There are currently still two vacancies on the parish council.
Chairman Cllr David Mahon said the council is happy to hear from parishioners who are interested in giving their time to enhance their communities.
