A DISPUTE over how Keighley Town Council’s agendas for its full meetings are presented triggered a heated exchange at the latest council meeting.
Two councillors voiced concern over resolutions from the town council’s committees no longer being written out within agendas for full meetings, leading to a brief verbal confrontation.
The matter was raised by Cllr Amjad Zaman, backed by Cllr Amjid Ahmed.
Cllr Zaman asked when and why the full meeting agenda format had changed to not include the wording of resolutions brought forward by town council committees.
Locum clerk Anne Wilson responded that if councillors fully read through the paperwork issued to them they could already see the full text of these resolutions.
When Cllr Zaman persisted in questioning this, he clashed with town mayor Cllr Fulzar Ahmed who repeatedly asked Cllr Zaman to sit down and stop interrupting.
