WINTER-themed books are being given away to children.
The National Literacy Trust is offering parents the chance to win one of 20 different titles for their child.
Bradford Stories, a scheme aimed at raising literacy levels in the district and getting more youngsters reading, was launched by the trust four years ago – in conjunction with partner organisations, including Bradford Council.
New research carried out by the trust shows that the more books a child owns, the greater the likelihood he or she will do well at school and be happy.
Imran Hafeez, Bradford Stories manager, said: "Books have the power to transform lives, yet far too many children are missing out on the chance to reach their full potential simply because they don’t have a book of their own at home.
"By supporting Bradford Stories, people can help disadvantaged children throughout the district fall in love with reading for a lifetime."
