A CARE trust's plans to develop a regional research hub will be outlined at a meeting next week.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is proposing to widen its partnerships with higher-education providers to build on its research work.

It currently works with institutions including Bradford University and the University of York.

The plans will be spotlighted at a care trust public board meeting at New Mill, Victoria Road, Saltaire, next Thursday (Jan 31), between 1.30pm and 4pm.

Anyone is invited to attend.

The trust says it exceeds targets set by the National Institute for Health Research for recruiting participants to research projects and also runs several internal initiatives, but is seeking to ensure that high-quality ventures can continue to be developed and broadened.

"Healthcare research is vitally important for developing better ways of delivering care to our patients," said trust medical director, Dr Andy McElligott.

"Our research and development team works hard to support clinical research studies and we look forward to sharing with the public our plans for expanding this."
