A POTENTIAL solution is taking shape to address badly eroded road surfaces in residential streets in Oxenhope.
Members of Oxenhope Parish Council have again met with residents of streets in a part of the village known as The Square, to discuss how to resolve the situation.
These streets are unadopted, so any repairs will need to be funded by householders in the affected area, not by Bradford Council.
The Square includes Beatrice Street and several other nearby roads in Lowertown.
Parish council vice chairman Cllr Robert Goulding, (pictured) who along with councillors Karen Faulkner, Rebecca Poulsen and Chris Herd attended the latest public meeting, said: “The residents who did come along were quite keen, so I’m confident we’ll end up with something being done.
“We’re looking at using road planings, but we need to have consent from every resident, even if they aren’t prepared to pay.
“I think it would be possible to do a decent job, even though it isn’t a permanent fix.”
Cllr David McManus warned that if planings are the preferred solution, it was important to ensure they allow water to run off the road surface.
