A NEW chapter in giving has opened for a Keighley supermarket.
Morrisons, in Worth Way, is donating a bundle of books to Parkwood Primary School in the town.
The bequest is in celebration of World Book Day, on Thursday, March 7.
Nicole McGuinness, community champion at the Keighley store, will visit the school to make the presentation.
“There’s a great selection of books and I hope that every pupil will be able to find a story they’ll enjoy,” she said.
The donation is being made thanks to a partnership between the Morrisons Foundation and the National Literacy Trust, which aims to instil a love of books and reading among children.
Every Morrisons supermarket across the country is donating books to a primary school within their communities.
Jonathan Douglas, director of the National Literacy Trust, welcomed the initiative.
He added: “We are thrilled to be working with Morrisons to bring the gift of reading to primary school children across the UK, through these donations.”
