I WOULD like to reply to Bradford Council’s response to my letter last week about litter in Keighley.
I understand we have had cuts district-wide however the difference between Keighley and surrounding areas is on an extremely different level.
I am not council educated and don’t know how the funding scheme works or where and when it is allocated however as a resident who has approached the council on numerous occasions before and has been ignored I am still concerned that my issues will not be addressed.
I have photographs showing rubbish and faeces being left on the streets for months, in fact the same bottles, pots, rubbish on my street and other streets still remain.
In other areas however the upkeep is very much different and so I hope that the council recognises that this isn’t a dumping ground but a home to every resident who contributes every day towards their community and yet receives little back.
The matter could have been addressed in 2011. We could have arranged volunteer clean-ups which don’t require funding. Nevertheless I am pleased to hear that funding is being implemented and hope to see a change in the area in due course.
