PEOPLE across the Keighley district are being urged to ensure they’re registered to vote.

Bradford Council elections take place on Thursday, May 2.

To vote, people must be on the electoral register.

“Local government decisions have a significant impact on the lives of all residents across the district,” said Kersten England, the council’s chief executive and returning officer.

“It’s important to ensure you’re registered so your voice will be heard on issues which affect you and your community.

“Registration is easy and takes just five minutes.

“So whether you’re on your commute or waiting for the kettle to boil, you can quickly register and make sure you get to have your say.”

The deadline to register is midnight on Friday, April 12.

The procedure can be carried out online, at gov.uk/register-to-vote, or by calling the council on 01274 431360.

Bradford Council is currently Labour-controlled, with 52 of the 90 seats.
