DECLAN Vink is back with a new song and he’s worked with a team of upcoming performers and filmmakers to make the video.
The Riddlesden singer-songwriter, who is currently attending Leeds College of Music, will release the video for You on May 30.
Declan said: “I really wanted to bring together a bunch of aspiring creatives as there is so much talent in our area. It would be idiocy for me to turn my back on that.
“The project was a collaborative effort from four creative institutions in Leeds including Northern Film School, where directors Dan McGregor and Gage Davis recently graduated alongside camera operators Jacob Whiting and Jack Braham.
“Our concept designer Hattie Barnes attends Leeds Arts University. The dancer in the video is from Northern School of Contemporary Dance.”
Declan also plans a live session within the next few weeks and will soon announce the release date of the new single.
In his music Declan sets out to combine 80 synths, ‘blood harmonies’, mellow guitars and heart-on-your-sleeve songwriting to create ethereal, alternative pop.
He also tours with a four-piece backing band also named Declan Vink, bringing an energetic take on modern dream pop.
BBC Radio Leeds presenter Nick Ahad called Declan “far too talented”, while Mandy Naumann, writing for Spotlight Music UK, described the band’s performance and recordings as “immersive”.
