SCHOOLCHILDREN across Keighley are celebrating One Britain One Nation Day.

And they are urging the whole town to get behind the initiative.

The day – this Friday (June 28) – celebrates unity and pride.

Ambassadors from Keighley Schools Together met in Town Hall Square as part of preparations for the event.

Pupils from eight schools delivered posters and flags to businesses, organisations and public services in the town.

"The response received was tremendous and all involved would like to thank everyone for their support," said a spokesman.

"Schools will be flying the Union Flag, singing the national anthem and celebrating our diverse and inclusive country.

"And the youngsters of Keighley would like the whole town to get involved by enjoying and celebrating all things British.

"They have prepared a special display in the town centre showcasing some of their work and have arranged for red, white and blue bunting around schools and the town centre and for typically British music to be played in Cavendish Street.

"Special thanks go to the businesses and staff who have enabled all this to happen."
