COMMUNITY spirit is blooming marvellous at Central Hall in Keighley.
A Facebook appeal attracted help for existing volunteers in sprucing up the Alice Street community centre’s surroundings.
Hall manager Julie Linton said: “Central Hall was looking a little unloved – as a result of being so busy inside the outside became neglected.
“After our appeal we were contacted by Smalls Showroom, who put us in touch with Woodbank Nurseries –- together they came along and totally spruced up the outside area.
“Alongside this generous act, an anonymous person cleared all the overgrown weeds one weekend. “We are so grateful for all the help and hope all our visitors enjoy the welcoming colourful garden.”
Central Hall is the base of Community Action Bradford and District, which supports Keighley’s voluntary and community groups.
It is home to several other voluntary organisations, has a community café, and rents out office space, meeting rooms and a large function room.
