PERFECT weather encouraged thousands of people to flock to this year’s Manorlands Garden Party.
The visitors helped kind-hearted volunteers from a host of local organisations raise £13,000 for the Oxenhope hospice last Sunday.
Manorlands senior community fundraiser Hayley Ibbotson was delighted with the response from the public to the annual event in the grounds of the hospice.
She said: “We’re absolutely delighted with this total, which helps us to continue providing care to those in the local area who need us.
“Entertainment included Haworth Brass Band and Haworth Home Guard, as well as The Jivers, Eastburn Fitness Centre and the Voices of Yorkshire Choir.
“We also had three alpacas from Thornwood Alpacas who proved a big hit.
“The weather was on our side and the grounds were bustling with various stalls and entertainment and so many people came out to support us.
Hayley said she wanted to thank every person who contributed to making the Garden Party such a success, from volunteers, advertisers and businesses to everyone who donated items for the day.
She said: “We simply couldn’t make it happen without the kindness of the local community.
“It’s a great day, when we are pleased to be able to invite the community to enjoy the grounds each year and at the same time have the opportunity to learn more about the hospice.”
