FUNDRAISING at Beechcliffe Special School in Keighley is hitting new heights.
Around a dozen staff members from the school, in Green Head Road, are tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
The challenge, on August 26, is to raise funds for much-needed sensory resources for students.
Team members are in training for the effort, which will take in the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
An online fundraising page has been set-up, with the aim of raising £1,000.

A school spokesman said: “At Beechcliffe, we provide education and care for young adults with disabilities and complex needs.
“As part of our educational responsibilities, we have designed a specialist sensory room. This will help the pupils by stimulating their senses through movement and exploratory play and they will return to class with a more relaxed and focused approach to learning.
“However, due to limited school funding, we have only been able to establish a small number of resources for the young adults – therefore the room is not as beneficial to all students as it could be.
“So we decided as a staff team to try to raise money by taking on the Three Peaks.
“Any donations, big or small, would be very much appreciated.”
