SCHOOL children are being urged to get on their bikes.
Sustainable transport charity Sustrans is staging its annual Bike to School Week, starting on September 23.
The initiative is supported by the Bikeability Trust.
Pupils are encouraged to cycle to and from school.
A range of resources is produced, including posters, activity packs and a video.
Rosslyn Colderley, for Sustrans, said: “Bike to School Week is a great way to show the benefits of cycling to children across Yorkshire and to promote the positive impact that an active lifestyle can have on children’s wellbeing and overall health.
“We also hope the week will send a clear message to the UK government to prioritise a safer and more pleasant environment for children to walk and cycle to school.”
