YOUNG adults in the district have been learning how to avoid scams.
Around 50 people took part in a workshop at Barnardo’s Bradford Employment, Training and Skills Service.
Many of those who attended had been victims of scammers previously.
The session, specifically for young adults supported by Barnardo’s, was staged by Santander UK as an extension of a Deadliest Dupes campaign.
Research by the bank has shown that under-25s are three times more likely than other age groups to act on an instruction in scam correspondence.
And 85 per cent have shared details on Instagram that could leave them open to ID theft.
Richard Ackroyd, for Santander, said: “These workshops are a great way for us to reach young people with scam-avoidance messages that could make a real difference to their lives.”
