HAWORTH man Herbert Scarborough will be the subject of the latest free talk at Cliffe Castle Museum.
His son Michael will speak about ‘Yorkshire Bred – A Page A Day’ on Saturday November 23 at 1.30pm.
Cliffe Castle Support Group, which has organised the talk, said the event would be enchanting and thought-provoking.
A spokesman said: “Writing “a page a day” was the daily task Herbert set himself for over 70 years. He left a record of his life in the early years of the last century in two tea-chests of papers.
“His notes provide us with a fascinating glimpse of the time he spent on a farm in a less well-known Yorkshire dale. These pages are a social history and a deeply personal story; amusing, sad, even tragic, always informative and sometimes critical.”
Mr Scarborough, long-time chairman of the Friends ofCliffe Castle, will explore his father’s legacy.
Booking is essential. Email Cliffe.Castle@bradford.gov.uk or call the museum on 01535 618231 to book a place.
