SOLOISTS, guest musicians, guest artists and the Children’s Chorus come together as the entire Opera North company presents a varied Christmas programme.

Highlights will include Opera North’s first Relaxed Performance at Leeds Town Hall, a thrilling seasonal double bill specially adapted for those who might otherwise be unable to experience it.

This will bring together Peter and the Wolf and The Snowman, performed by the Orchestra of Opera North and former Teletubby and CBeebies favourite Pui Fan Lee in Leeds Town Hall on December 22 at 2.30pm.

There will be a standard performance at 4.30pm.

The Orchestra of Opera North will present its Viennese Whirl at Leeds Town Hall on December 29, and Huddersfield Town Hall on December 30, featuring waltzes, polkas and song by the Strauss family and more, with guest tenor Gavan Ring and conductor Paul Daniel.

Gavan Ring is a popular performer in the Opera North main-stage operas.

The Nutcracker and The Snowman will be performed with the Orchestra of Opera North and Pui Fan Lee at Huddersfield Town Hall on December 11.

The Opera North Christmas Concert will have Garry Walker conducting the massed ensembles at Dewsbury Town Hall on December 12.

The season begins with Opera North Children’s Chorus and Young Voices performing Merry Little Christmas at Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall, University of Leeds, on December 7, with carols and seasonal favourites around a telling of The Legend of the Christmas Rose.
