BEAUTIFUL The Carole King Musical is returning to Bradford Alhambra next year with a new cast.

The acclaimed show, which features a host of hits by the world-famous songwriter and singer, can be seen from March 3-7.

The show spent more than two years in the West End before a sell-out tour in 2017/18, and has won Olivier, Tony and Grammy awards.

Daisy Wood-Davis will play Carole King. She is probably best known as Kim Butterfield in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, and her other TV credits include Tansy Meadow in EastEnders and Phoebe Crowhurst in Holby City.

Her ’s theatre credits include Laura in Dreamboats and Petticoats in the West End and on tour, Janet in the European tour of The Rocky Horror Show and most recently Sheila in the UK tour of Hair.

Beautiful is based on the early life and career of legendary singer/songwriter Carole King, told through her songs such as Take Good Care of My Baby, You’ve Got a Friend, So Far Away, It Might as Well Rain Until September, Up on the Roof and The Locomotion.

There are also songs by her contemporaries Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, including You’ve Lost that Lovin Feeling, On Broadway and We Gotta Get out of This Place.

Long before she was Carole King, the chart-topping singer, she was an ordinary girl with an extraordinary talent.

The show tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Weil and Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.
