A FESTIVE extravaganza was staged to launch late-night shopping in Keighley.

There was a host of live entertainment in the town centre, including stilt walkers, roller-skating elves, a Penny Farthing comedy act and an LED juggler.

Face painters were on hand, and there were free crepes and hot chocolate. And a band played a variety of Christmas classics in the Airedale Shopping Centre.

Yesterday's (Dec 12) event was organised by Keighley Business Improvement District brand, Discover Keighley, and the shopping centre.

Cards were also handed out for the Independents Campaign, run by Discover Keighley.

The initiative sees shoppers collect three stamps from participating businesses and return their completed cards via special postboxes placed around the town centre, to be entered into a prize draw. Weekly winners receive £150 in vouchers, and a bumper £1,000 voucher victor will be drawn next Friday (Dec 20).

Late-night shopping takes place again on Thursday. The Airedale Shopping Centre is also offering free parking that day – from 3pm – as well as every weekend this month, and on December 23, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and December 27.
