A COWLING farmer made an immediate impact on his debut in the dairy show arena at Skipton Auction Mart.
Chris Bell took the champion title in the final Craven Dairy Auction fixture of the year, with his heifer Mireclose Galaxy Chesakat.
It sold for £1,920 to ringside regular Brian Blezard, of Ribchester.
Mr Bell is a fifth generation dairy farmer – his herd was originally established by his great, great grandfather, William Bell, around a century ago. It currently has 85 milkers.
Show judge was Sammy Jo Sugden, who runs the Brontemoor pedigree herd at Laycock.
The fortnightly Craven Dairy Auction fixtures return in the new year, on Monday, January 13.
