CORONAVIRUS has not stopped some enterprising Scout groups from meeting.

Whilst all face-to-face meetings, events and activities have been postponed in line with Government measures, some groups have taken to the internet.

In Keighley district, there are more than 600 young people involved in the movement – and over 250 adult volunteers.

Toby Hammond, West Yorkshire youth commissioner, said: “Scouting in the county has not stopped just because we’re not meeting face-to-face. This shows our members’ fantastic Scouting values.

“Many groups have different ways of holding their weekly meetings, such as online.

“Also, the Scout Association has come up with The Great Indoors – an online tool with over 100 activities you can do at home with your family. This is a free resource for anyone to use – go to scouts.org.uk/the-great-indoors.”
