A FAMILY of churches is to live stream its Easter services to allow people to worship during Holy week.

Churches have been closed across the country as part of the coronavirus lockdown.

Now, the Pastrow family of churches will be streaming its services daily.

It will include its regular Sunday services, as well as special children’s services and daily prayers.

The family includes churches at Charlton, Enham, Faccombe, Hatherden, Penton Mewsey, Smannell, Tangley Faccombe, Hurstbourne, Linkenholt, Vernham and Weyhill.

Revd Alex Randle-Bissell, Priest-in-charge, said: “We’ve had a good response so far from old and young, all over the region.

“Being able to adapt like this fits in with our vision for the local community as we are constantly looking at new ways to embrace spirituality and cater for everyone’s needs.

“Online services will never replace more traditional ways of worship and gathering together face to face, but this is the perfect example of using technology in a positive way to connect and enhance our lives.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer continuity and to connect with people this way – particularly at a time when so many need solace or to feel they are part of a wider community.

“Inevitably, this crisis will cause some to ponder on the bigger questions in life, so might also be a good time to go online and start to see what this is all about.”
