ANOTHER fire has blighted the derelict Barkerend Mills near Bradford city centre.
Three crews from Bradford, Fairweather Green and Stanningley were called out at 9.35pm last night to reports of a fire on the ground and first floor.
The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets, one aerial ladder platform and six breathing apparatus sets and positive pressure ventilation.
A spokesperson for the fire service said it was believed to be "deliberate".
The spokesperson added: "It was fairly substantial. It's a derelict mill anyway but there was about 25 per cent of the ground and first floor involved.
"Police will be investigating."
At the height of its operation, six storey Barkerend Mills, just outside of Bradford city centre, employed over 400 people.
The Grade II listed mill buildings have been empty for a number of years, and areas of the site have been damaged by fire.
