KEIGHLEY College student Tom Waddington has taken-up a full-time role with Acorn Stairlifts following an internship at the Steeton company.
He began working part-time at the firm earlier this year as part of a supported internship study programme run by the college.
Now Tom has been offered a permanent post as an assembly worker.
Acorn Stairlifts factory manager, Andrew Longthorne, said: “Tom has brought admirable enthusiasm and infectious positivity to the team. While on his internship, he showed real commitment and extra willingness in every aspect of his role.”
As part of his internship, Tom has worked with Keighley College job coach Shameem Koser, who said: “We’re incredibly impressed with Tom’s progress at Acorn Stairlifts, who play a key role in providing life-changing opportunities for our students. Our supported internship programme is essential for developing skills, preparing the students for the workplace.”
