POLICE say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a man which closed the A59 for five hours near Chatburn yesterday.
Officers were called to the scene near the Chatburn turn-off from the A59 at around 8.45am yesterday.
Motorists were warned that the carriageway was being closed in both directions as a full investigation was carried out.
Emergency services attended the incident and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
"Our thoughts are with the man's family at this sad and difficult time."
