NORTH Yorkshire Police are warning people that it will soon be illegal to possess certain knives and weapons anywhere – even at home.
Flick knives, curved swords, batons, zombie knives and knuckle dusters are among items being banned under the Offensive Weapons Act.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The Government is currently operating a surrender scheme, allowing owners to claim compensation if the total value is more than £30.
"Claims must be submitted to the police with a completed form."
The surrender and compensation scheme ends on March 9.
