FUNDS are still available to help Keighley-district families struggling to heat their homes this winter.

Support is on offer through the No Child Cold campaign, which was launched in January by Bradford Council.

But time is running out for people to make a claim – the initiative comes to an end on Monday, March 8.

Many families have faced higher energy bills during the winter as a result of people working from home and schools being closed, with children having to work remotely.

Around 75,000 youngsters across the Bradford district have been learning from home.

Businesses, faith groups and individuals have been pledging money to the campaign.

Those who can apply for help include people who have been furloughed or households where children would normally be entitled to free school meals – and have seen a rise in fuel costs.

Claims have been coming in from across the district, from a wide range of people.

And schools have also been helping their families to benefit from the campaign.

Organisers are urging more people to come forward before the initiative closes.
