A CARE trust is seeking governors from Keighley and Craven.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is encouraging people to put themselves forward for the role.

The trust has ten governor seats in total open to the public across the district – one each in Keighley, Craven, Bradford South and Shipley, plus three each in Bradford East and Bradford West.

Nicky Green, the trust’s lead governor, said: “Being a governor is a rewarding, interesting and valuable role.

“We act as the voice of the public at meetings, influencing the trust board and its work to provide the best service possible to our users. We provide public feedback on service provision. Everyone’s voice is important – if you are interested, you can apply to become a governor and your input will be valued.”

Governors also have statutory duties, such as the appointment of non-executive directors – including the chairman of the trust – to the board.

Anyone wishing to apply must be a member of the trust. Membership is free – visit bdct.nhs.uk.

Governor nomination forms will be available at bdct.nhs.uk/about-us/our-council-of-governors/become-a-governor from Wednesday (March 3). The deadline for applications is March 18.
