MEMBERS of a district care trust are being urged to use their vote to elect a public governor who will represent their views.

A poll is being held by Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust to elect governors across five constituencies, including Keighley.

Details have been sent to all members, who need to vote – by post or online – by 5pm on Thursday, April 29.

Once the ballot has closed and results have been confirmed, the newly-appointed governors will begin their three-year term of office next month.

Paul Hogg, the trust’s director of corporate affairs, said: “Governor nominations have come from a broad range of people who would all bring different skills and experience to the role and make a valuable contribution to the trust. We’d encourage every trust member to vote for the candidate that they believe will do the best job of representing their local community.”

The trust’s clinical and non-clinical teams are also being invited to vote for a staff governor.
