THREE Keighley people have appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man in the town.
The trio – Anthony Atha, 53, of West Bank Close, and Leslie Walker, 46, and Angela Thornton, 48, both of Nightingale Street – made an initial appearance at Leeds Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
All three were then remanded into custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court today.
They are charged with murdering George Dore, 49.
Family of Mr Dore have described him as “a kind, generous, well-liked local man who was much loved and will be greatly missed. A legend of the town.”
Police and the ambulance service were called to reports of an injured person at a property in Fell Lane shortly before 4am last Thursday.
West Yorkshire Police said a man in his 40s was taken to hospital and died shortly afterwards.
A large cordon was put in place at Fell Lane whilst police carried out investigations and forensics officers examined the scene.
