A KEIGHLEY-district secondary school has undergone a £2.5 million-plus upgrade.

A major roofing and fire safety scheme has been carried out at South Craven School, in Cross Hills.

Spearheading the project was MAC Construction Consultants.

It completed two phases of work after making successful bids to the Government’s Condition Improvement Fund (CIF).

The initiative involved replacing external and internal fire doors and partitions – and the flat roof system – and associated works.

Despite a delayed CIF announcement and the challenges posed by the pandemic, the project was successfully delivered on time and to budget.

Jon Jones, director and head of the education team at MAC, said: “It’s a great achievement to have generated in excess of £2.5m funding for South Craven School, with a 100 per cent success rate in our CIF bids for them.

“The scheme further reflects our success with delivering CIF bids and our commitment to working on behalf of academies to improve their buildings.”
