SOUTH Craven people preparing for their driving test can now practice their theory skills at home – or in the library!

North Yorkshire Libraries has launched a new digital service to coincide with the resumption of driving tests, following the recent easing of lockdown restrictions.

Theory Test Pro is hailed as a realistic online simulation of the UK’s driving theory test.

It includes the official practice test question bank, hazard-perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code.

All the material is licensed from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, which sets the tests.

Library members can access the content for free from home, via their own device, or visit a library and use the public computers.

County Councillor Greg White, executive member for libraries, said: “The library service provides an extensive suite of resources, from e-books and encyclopaedias to magazines and business start-up guides.

“Over the past year, it has responded to the challenges posed by the pandemic to further develop and deliver an excellent online service to the people of North Yorkshire.

“Theory Test Pro is a valuable addition, enabling people to get the most from the driving test study by testing and honing their knowledge at home or at their local library.”
